The Rotary Club of THANE UPTOWN was chartered on 30th June 1992. Charter President Rtn Kumudini Ballal along with her colleagues collected a group of eighteen members. Rtn. Ballal laid a good foundation and achieved great deal of success in spite of limited resources. The club prides in the high number of female members it has. We have a strong bonding between the members due to the fact that spouses are also very active in the club.
Over the years we have done numerous projects which has made a difference to the lives we have touched. Some of the work that we have done & will continue to do so are:
- We have built numerous toilets in our adopted villages at Savroli & Dasai.
- Apart from Savroli we built toilet block every year in and around Shahpur & Murbad area
- We are doing happy School Project every year by way of supporting needy school
- We are doing medical camps every year to improve the health of the needy underprivileged .
- Club is working towards improving the facilities in schools by providing e-learning, toilet facilities, play area equipments, libraries etc.
- Support the school / homes for the special children by providing various facilities like flooring, playground equipments etc
- We have built check dam at Wada to enable villagers to get water supply throughout the year. on CSR fund
- We have also contributed for various projects like paediatric Heart surgeries, Asha kiran etc.on CSR fund
- We work on district thrust area through Distrct Grant
- We have done a major Global grant Project " Geriatric Physiotheraphy Van:" to help rural senior citizen
- We built science labaratories to thr needy school in Thane on CSR fund
- We built water treatment plant in needy school in Thane on CSR fund
- We have arranged Para teacher to the school in rural area of Shahpur on CSR fund
- We built Borewell for the school in Shahpur to meet their water demand
